Gianna Rose

Sorry it's been so freakin long! This may be the longest I haven't posted (I really have no idea--I'll get back to you on that :) )

But yeah so in just a few hours, my second Mommy, Mama Bedford, will be having her ninth child and her fifth girl! They don't know for sure, but they think she will be named Gianna Rose. What a beautiful name, right?! So Lainey's heading to the hospital in 20 or so minutes and she said she will text me a picture and her official name!

I really, really wish I could be there though! Dang school! Seriously if I had a car, I'd be there. Cuz a. this is really special to them and to me and b. Wednesday was my last week of classes til Monday--perfectly a long enough amount of time to be back in Carmel! But whatevs. It is what it is.

Anyways, I seriously am freaking out in excitement! My fifth sister! It's crazy to believe that in one year, I've gone from two annoying parents and two annoying brothers and added two amazing parents and nine amazing siblings (four boys, and now five girls!). Craziness.

I'll keep this updated with news about this wonderful gift from God! I'll put up a pic, too! He is soooo good!!! GO GOD! :)

UPDATE: Lainey told me that she was born a little before 3 and she said I was the first person she told and she told me even before she took a picture with her...have I told you how much I love my sister!?!? and her name is Gianna Rose Bedford, btw :)

my sister!

Yes, this post is ALL about my sister. She and I tell each other absolutely everything and it's amazing! She and I aren't TECHNICALLY related, but we are so close we both call each other "sister" and say we each have a sister (actually, Lainey already has 3 sisters [and a fourth may be on the way--her mommy's six weeks pregnant!], but none of her biological sisters are older than her and she's always wanted an older sister and I have no sisters so yeah). And like I said earlier, we tell each other EVERYTHING!
So just so you can get an idea of the two of us...here are some memories!
-calling each other at 10:45 PM on a school night
-parallel parking practice at 10:45 PM on a Sunday night
-crying together til 4 in the morning for several days/nights straight
-being really out of it in school as a result
-being told by Dyar we need 6 hours of sleep. yeah right, like that's gonna happen
-sharing chairs at lunch and choir
-lack of food consumption
-who shall carry the tray today?
-brilliant table-cleaning system
-writing letter after letter to each other
-drawing pics and doodles for each other
-ginger sisters!
-piano class...nuff said.
-venti java chip frappucinos...and storing them in Mr. Duray's fridge in between classes
-getting home at 3 AM more than once
-sharing secrets
-hair salon!
-wandering around the hallways when we're supposed to be in piano...whoops
-skipping second period on mass days to clean up and then chill (I have discrete math and she has government..ick)
-dude drama
-homework help (she helps me with theology, I helped her with geometry last tri and now I help her with chemistry)
YUP! SO THAT'S US IN A NUTSHELL!

in closing, she sent me this really touchingly simple IM a few hours ago...
You are my best friend. I haven't known you for even a year, yet I trust you more than the friends I've had for years. I can tell you anything. You don't judge me. You are one of the best friends I've ever had. Never leave me. Thank you so much. I wanted to remind you that I love you.

I LOVE YOU ELAINA!

Lord, I Come to You

This is the first Christian song I ever wrote that I actually like. Haha not to mention the first song EVER that I wrote down the sheet music for!

Lord I come to You,
With all of my heart.
Lord I come to You,
With all of my pray-ayers.
Lord guide me
To do the right thing!
Lord help me
To follow-ow Youuuu.

I can't do it on my own,
Only with you and You alone!
You can lead me
All my days
In all I think, do, and say. [repeat]

Lord I come to You
For help with these.
Lord I come to You
To hel-el-p meeeeeee.

Every Time

*this is the first of the songs I wrote for my OLMC kindergarteners (the first is the rap)*

Refrain:
Every time you laugh,
The Lord laughs with you.
Every time you cry,
Tears run down His face, too.

Verse 1:
And when you
Don't know what to do,
The Lord is with you
To love and guide you.

Bridge/Miscellaneous:
Ooo-oooh-oooh-oooh-ooohohh!

[DO NOT REPEAT REFRAIN HERE, MOVE RIGHT ON TO VERSE 2]

Verse 2:
And when you run to
The corner and the world's
Closing in,
The Lord comes by
And is your friend.

[REPEAT REFRAIN]

Verse 3:
When you look for Him
When you don't,
The Lord is there
Whether or not you know!

[bridge/miscellaneous repeating while gradually decrescendo-ing]

"Ode to Kindergarten" rapppppp

so this is my first rap and I think it's a success...it's only been repeating nonstop in my head since I wrote it several hours ago :) it's basically a straight-up rap...I'm still deciding if I'll do it a capella or to a simple beatbox...hm.

So Mrs. Pike's kids
And Mrs. Dermody's, too,
This is a rap made just for you!
When you play on the iPad,
Or color in the lines,
Just remember these fun times.
All the laughs and smiles and pictures
They all add to this one thing:
Your kindergarten year!
Yeah this one time,
It ain't over yet,
Keep in mind
The alphabet!
A B C D E F G (ja-ja-ja-gee)H I J K L M N O (oooooooo) P Q R S T U V W X Y Z!
Phew! Now breathe.
Yeah 2011 (twenty-eleven),
Our goal is heaven.
But while you're here
Learn these things
Cuz they'll help you
Get to greater things!
Whoo!

GO KNIGHTS!

As stated in the previous post, I have settled on a college decision! I will be attending Bellarmine University this upcoming fall! YAY! :)
I know that when I have mentioned that to people, basically no one has ever heard of the University. So I'm just going to assume you haven't (or at least not this much). So here's some basic info...

-about 2,000 undergrad + 1,000 grad = some 3,000 students
-Catholic University(but only 53% of the student body is Catholic)
-liberal arts curriculum
-named after Saint Robert Bellarmine
-"in veritatis amore" = motto (it translates to "in love of truth")
-located 5 minutes outside of Louisville, Kentucky (about 2 hours away from my house--not too close, not too far)
-the campus is 135 acres
-8 residence halls
-50+ majors
-18 Varsity sports (all are Division II except lacrosse which is Division I) plus intramurals

UPDATES!!!!

So it's been...like 6 months since I've last been on here (sad, isn't it!?). Sorry! So let me catch you up...

-MTB and I broke up about a month later (June 19th is when we broke up). I am perfectly fine and loving the single life...but that's free to change anytime, mystery guy! ;)
-I entered the fabulous (and not nearly as stressful as everyone says) college application process! I applied to several schools, but had my heart set on Bellarmine University. How fitting is it that the first letter I get back is to that? Um yes I'm going! Duh! hahaha so come fall 2011, I'll be in Louisville for elementary education (more to come)
-I got in my first-ever car crash on December 12th on Springmill Road on my way to SMG for choir and mass. I was the only one in the car luckily. I only remember hitting the patch of ice, but I was told later that I spun and bounced off of a snowplow's wheel then hit a telephone pole. My car is completely totaled, but other than a few bad bruises and an undiagnosed mild concussion, I'm fine! PRAISE GOD!
-I made some awesome friends, including one who I have gone to school with all of high school but didn't become friends til senior year...go figure. haha I LOVE MY FRIENDS!
-I ran my first (and only, so far) mini marathon with Mo this past October. We rocked it (for walking-jogging it haha)
-SENIORITIS. YEP. THE END.
