Is it really worth it?

They raise your hopes,
They boost you up.
Then take away your lifeboat
Keeping your spirits up.
They give you a place,
Then change it and leave you
There to wonder and cry.
You're left all alone,
With just your thoughts
And feelings confusing you.
What you've been busting your butt working for
Has just been taken out from under you,
And you wonder if it's really worth all this.
Then you try to impress,
And are left with even more stress.
You turn to God,
Who tries to help,
But gave you free will.
So you have to use that will
And overpower mind over matter.
Get on with your life,
Because it's not worth it to dwell on this.
After all, we only have so much time,
So why not spend it wisely?
